Udaipur is known for its attractive handicrafts and miniature paintings.
There are numerous places to purchase them such as the government run handicraft shop, the city palace museum shop, the shopping streets from the city palace to Jagdish Temple Street and areas like the Bapu Bazaar, Ashwini markets, Suraj Pol, Chetak and beyond Hathi Pol.
However, if you are on the look out for a good bargain then the best place to shop would be in the off the beaten track towns like Bundi.
One can find embroidered bags, dhurries, Meenakari or enamel work, wooden folk toys or puppets, block printed fabrics, silver jewelry and more.
