The Gulab Bagh also called as the Sajjan Niwas garden is spread over an area of 100 acres and is regarded arguably as the largest and best garden in India. Here one can find flowerbeds, trees and a zoo but the highlight of this garden is that it has a museum also.
This museum was called as Victoria Hall Museum in the past and is very reputed for the collection of curios and antiques. However currently this museum has been shifted to Karan Vilas Mahal which exists in the City Palace complex.
To the Gulab Bagh is attached a public library that has illustrated manuscripts and huge volumes related to History, Archaeology and Indology. This library and a reading room are situated inside the Victoria Hall.
As per Hindu calendar during the month of Shravan (July / August) a fair is arranged in this garden on every Monday. Close to the Gulab Bagh one can find Ekling Garh or Machla Magra which is a small fish shaped hill.
