On the way from Ratnagiri to Purna Gad and at a distance of 21 kilometers from Ratnagiri exists a famous Lord Ganesh temple called Ganpatipule.

Purna Gad has also clean and serene beaches.

Ratna Durga is a fort that was constructed in the Bahamani rule. This fort is shaped like a horseshoe and the length is 1,300 meters while the breadth is 1,000 meters.

This fort was rebuilt by Dhondu Bhaskar Pratinidhi in 1790 and the ramparts were strengthened.

Siddha Buruj is a fort bastion where a lighthouse was constructed in 1867 and further rebuilt in 1962.  Inside the fort, there is an impressive temple of Goddess Bhagwati.

At a distance of 170 kilometers from Ratnagiri, there lies Velneshwar. Here, the beach is clean and one can find plenty of coconut trees.

The nearby sea being free of rocks is ideal for swimming. In this place, there is a popular Lord Shiva temple.

Malgund is a village where the popular Marathi poet Keshavsut was born. The Marathi Literature Society has built a monument in his honor, which is called as “Keshavsut Smarak”. The poet’s residence has been renovated and transformed to a dormitory for students.

Pawas is a place known for its natural beauty. A recent influential religious leader, Swami Swaroopanand, settled in this place and gave this place recognition.

The residence of this leader has been transformed to an ashram.
