Elliot Beach is situated at Besant Nagar which is 60km from Chennai and is popularly known as the Bessie Beach.
The beach is to the south of the Marina Beach and can be easily accessed via the well maintained transport facilities provided within the city.
This tranquil and clean beach is a popular spot among the locals who are mostly youngsters and also among tourists who come here to relax and sun bathe or simply stroll on the sandy areas of the beach.
There is a wide choice of restaurants and fast food joints such as the Karaikudi and Ponnuswamy restaurant serving traditional menus and the New Shangri La and Lee’s Chinese restaurants serving international cuisines as well.
There is a large parking space for those coming in cars or private vehicles. The Velanganni Church and the Ashtalakshmi temple are a few spots of religious worship near the beach.
