The Chennai International Airport is the first International Airport that has received the ISO-9001-2000 certification.
It is also the first airport for five aspects introduction of paper cups at airport for a more environment friendly ambience supply of free mineral water from designated water coolers at Anna International Terminal and Kamaraj Domestic Terminal the use of Domestic terminals for International flight on wheels presence of Aerobridge at Domestic terminal the domestic and international terminals are adjacent to one another.
This airport has an exclusive sub-urban airport railway station.
The Indian Guild of Professional Architects has deemed this as the “Best Airport Domestic terminal” and this award was given by the President of India.
