Chennai International Airport is situated in Meenambakkam, around 7km South of Chennai.
It is the 3rd largest international gateway into India and amongst the busiest airports of the country.
Apart from operating both international and domestic flights, it also serves as an important cargo terminal.
The airport comprises of three terminals: the old terminal at Meenambakkam is used for cargo.
Passenger operations are done in a new passenger terminal situated near Pallavaram. It is further divided between Kamaraj domestic terminal and Anna International terminals, which are connected via a link building, containing a restaurant and administrative offices.
Air India, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Deccan and SpiceJet provide domestic flights while Air France, Air Arabia, Lufthansa and Malaysian Airlines are the prime names in International Airlines.
The cargo terminal handles Air Indian Cargo, Atlas Air, Emirates Sky Cargo and more.
