Kamakshi Amman Temple
The Kamakshi Amman Temple was built in the 14th century A.D. by the Cholas. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Parvati. This goddess incarnated as the Goddess of Love, Kamakshi.
Kailasanathar Temple
The Kailasanathar Temple was built in the 8th century A.D. by the Pallava kings. The architecture of this temple is similar to the Shore temple in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. The temple has an interesting panel that depicts Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva in the dance competitions.
Varadaraja Temple
The Varadaraja Temple has a hundred pillared hall. This was constructed by the Vijayanagar kings. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This god is worshipped as Devarajaswamy here.
Vaikuntha Perumal Temple
The Vaikuntha Perumal Temple is also dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It was built by Nandivarma Pallava in the 8th century A.D.
