The Ganesh Ratham means the chariot of Lord Ganesha. This is the sole completed structure out of the five rathas. Initially, this was dedicated to Lord Shiva and later became a shrine of Lord Ganesha.
On the hill slope close to this ratham there is a huge boulder called as Krishna’s Butter Ball. It is believed that the Pallava Kings used elephants to move this boulder but were unsuccessful. This story cannot be accepted as the boulder is located just where the slope of the mountain begins.
