This state is located in the North East of India the capital of which is Agartala. The main local dialects spoken here and Kokborok which is also referred to as Tripuri and Bengali. This stunningly beautiful place which was earlier baptized at Hill Tippera by the British has a history of 186 Kings over a period of over 2500 years. The altitudes of Tripura vary from approximately 50 to 3080 ft above sea level. The climate of this state is tropical. Considered to be the third smallest state of the country, Tripura is divided into 4 districts, 17 subdivisions and 40 development blocks. This state houses a variety of flora and fauna as well as a number of wildlife sanctuaries and national parks. Tripura is one of the remotest states in North East India.
