The city of Pratapgarh is located in the western hemisphere of the state of Tripura. The Pratapgarh city has its history way back from the medieval period. Many rulers have fought for the command of the city of Pratapgarh as it is a major city in the state of Tripura. The city of Pratapgarh is very famous for its historical monuments and palaces. The city has many such historic ruins which display the ancient old history of the city. Pratapgarh being a quite large geographically stretches up to 44 square km in area. In spite of being so large in area the population here is less as per the area available for colonies. As per the latest measured census the population of the city was around 25,890. The climate of the city has been very stable. The city of Pratapgarh has a typical tropical climate and is hot for the major portion of the year. The winters here are not so cold but the monsoons here are quite heavy.
