Within the ruins of the Old Town of Fatehpur Sikri, worth seeing are palaces, mosque and few chambers including Diwan-i-Am, the hall of public audience, where the emperor met the general public, Jodh Bai (t he main palace), Jama Masjid (the Mosque), Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds), Diwan-i-Khas (Chamber for private audiences), Naubat Khana (the drum house), Birbal’s palace (home of Akbar’s 2 Senior Queens).
In addition to these other prominent places to visit is the home wehere Akbar’s wifes sued to reside as well as the gateway build to celebrate the conquering of the kings of Gujarat – Buland Darwaza, which rises 176 feet high.
