The city of Gorakhpur is located in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh which in turn lies in the northeastern region of India. The city of Gorakhpur has a total area of about 3,483 square kilometers which is very huge. Being located in the northeastern region of India the weather in this city is perfect for tourists in winters and is a bit warm in summers. The minimum temperature recorded here is about 18 degrees Celsius in January and February during the winter season and the regular temperature in this region is around 27 to 40 degrees Celsius in the month of March till June in the summer season. Winds from a huge water mass namely The Bay of Bengal bring rainfall to this city in the months of June to August. Even though the city is big in size, it comprises of beautiful landscapes. It is a developed city with most of the population employed. The population dwelling in the city of Gorakhpur is counted out to be around 37, 69,456 people according to the 2001 census. The population density is tremendously high in this city.
