Aminabad is a famous market situated in the old parts of Lucknow. It is existing from the era of the Nawabs. It is a large and congested place where there are many narrow lanes and bylanes.
In the interior of the market, the movement of traffic is impossible. There are many small and medium sized shops where footwear, chikan (a style of embroidery) mens wear, ladies wear, chikan sarees, chikan kurta, fancy dresses, fashion garments, jewelery, ornaments, ladies fashion items, items of daily usage and several other fashion items are sold.
In the market, there are well known eateries. As there are many paan(betul leaf) shops, baker’s shops, sweet shops and non-vegetarian stalls, many people are attracted towards this market.
In the recent past, the government has taken several steps to enhance the state of Aminabad. The decorated shops, colorful lightings and traditionally dressed people make the Aminabad shopping a unique feeling.
