The Bara Imambara is also known as the Asafai Imambara. It is a splendid building in Lucknow.

It is regarded as the largest arched room in the world that does not have any pillars. In the past, the Nawabs used this place for public hearings. This structure has a central hall and one of the biggest vaulted galleries in the world.

Below these galleries there are several underground passages. The main hall is more than fifty feet in height and does not have any supports or pillars to support it. So, this is regarded as a unique example in architecture.

The buildings are made up of three huge halls that have walls which are about 20 feet thick. In these walls, there is an incredible maze of corridors.

This maze is spread over three stories and the total structure is so big that it is possible to wander several hours in it without walking through any passage twice.
