Religious places
The Augharnath Temple located near Westend Road is one of the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in the city. In the past, freedom fighters used to pray here before embarking towards the battlefield and hence it is called ‘Kali Paltan.’ The Dev Temple located at Modipuram Roorkee Road is a very beautiful place in outer Meerut. The other temples are the Shakti Dham located at Lal Kurti and PRC Gurudwara situated behind Augharnath Temple.
Parks
The Gandhi Bagh is a very beautiful park located at Mall Road in cantonment area of Meerut. The Pine Children Park is also located at Mall Road and Army maintains & develops various types of flowers in the park. People spend their evenings along with their family at the Electra Fall located at Wheelers Club Crossing. The Ecological Park is situated at Kali Paltan Road.
Amusement Parks
The Fairy World is situated at Meerut by-pass and is regarded as a heaven for children as there are several facilities to entertain and amuse children. Appu Ghar is another amusement park for children and this is located at Modipuram on Roorkee Road.
Other places
One of the oldest monuments in Meerut is the Shahid Smarak situated close to Westend Road which has been established in the memory of Ashoka the Great. The Clock Tower is situated at Ghanta Ghar on Delhi Road and is one of the oldest edifices of the Mughal era. Tank is located on Mall Road and is a monument of India-Pakistan war as well as a badge of honor for the victory of the Indian Army over Pakistan in 1971-72.
