Moradabad is a municipal corporation and a city in the Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh state.
In 1600, Prince Murad the son of Emperor Shah Jahan established this city and hence the name. It is located on the banks of the Ramganga River (one of the tributaries of the Ganges) approximately 167 kilometers from New Delhi the national capital.
This place is called as ‘Peetal Nagri’ or ‘Brass City’ as brass handicrafts is exported from Moradabad to the entire world.
As per the census of 2001, the population of Moradabad was 0.641 million.
The temperature in summer varies from 30 to 43 degrees Celsius and in winter from 5 to 25 degrees Celsius. The ideal time to visit Moradabad is from October to March.
