Muzzaffarnagar: Attractions and more...
There are several monuments from the Mogul period spread across the towns and villages of the Muzaffarnagar district which one can visit.
One such place is the Jansath Tehsil which is 22 km from the district and has many Havelis belonging to the Sayyids such as the Killi Darwaja and the Sheeshmahal.
The district also has a huge Shiv statue in the Shiv Chowk which is in the heart of the city. Shukartal is a popular holy place which lies 30 km from Muzaffarnagar on the banks of the Ganga River.
It is believed that under the Vat Vriksh at this place Maharishi Sukdev narrated the Bhagvadgeeta to Raja Parikshat, and so a temple was built. The Bahu Ki Mazar is the crematory of Sayyid Khan’s wife. There is a 35 feet high statue of Ganeshji at Ganeshdham.
The Boharon ka Mandir is another place of religious worship in this city.
