Dasaswamedh means the Ghat (river front) of ten sacrificed horses. This is one of the most vital river fronts in Varanasi. As per a legend, Lord Brahma sacrificed ten horses so that Lord Shiva could return from a period of banishment.
Despite the fact that Dasaswamedh Ghat dates back to several thousand years, it has remained clean and unspoilt.
There is a colorful and beautiful riverfront view from this Ghat where one can notice several Sadhus (Mendicant) performing religious rites here.
In the evening after the Aarti (prayer), thousands of earthen lamps are plunged in the waters of the holy Ganges and due to these the river gets a divine look at dusk.
