Varanasi is the best place for those who are Shiva Devoties, its most crowded city but some thing is there in the air holds you. Walk along the Ghats of Holy River Ganga early in the morning or simply sitting on the bank stairs gives you the ultimate pleasure,it automatically takes you away from yourself and connects you to divine power.
The smooth and silent flow of Ganga gives you an ultimate mental peace you are looking for.Specially in Winter when temperature is aroung 7 to 8 Degree,fog all around,sound of Bell from nearest Tamples makes you feel that Lord Shiva is just there sitting next to you.
In the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamegh Ghat is another attraction.
Shooping in small lanes & bylanes (specially Vishwanath Gulli which leads to Kashi Vishwanath Tample) is another attraction,though you have to have a real bargaining power.
Perfect place for the Foodies, who loves Sweets,specially at Gaudoliya Chauraha(Cross Road),you get Thandai(Milk With Dry Friuts)with Bhaangh.
You can not leave Varanasi without having Famous Banarasi Paan which you get on every nook and corner every where in Varanasi.
Beware of Monkies inside the premisses of Vishwanath Tamples,they might take away your Prasaad(to offer Lord Shiva) or your specticals.
Travelling is not easy specially by Cycle Rikshows, though its the most widely used mode of transpotation in Varanasi.
Varanasi is visited by maximum numbers of Foreigners, some times its very surprising to see locals speaks with them in English or French.
