Kolkata is situated on the banks of the River Hooghly. This city was established about 300 years ago from 3 villages.
Acknowledged as the Jewel of the east, this city still carries the Victorian imprint on its structures and streets. The Victoria Memorial, constructed in memory of Queen Victoria is one of the main attractions of this city.
The ‘fountain of Joy’ which faces the memorial is a beautiful fairy tale sight for the tourist.
