Digha Beach

The Old Digha Beach is situated across the Sea Hawk hotel through the ‘Jhaubans’ and the beach area here is flat and shallow making it ideal for sunbathing or relaxing while playing a game of volley ball.

Beer is served on the beach by local shopkeepers and one can also buy curios and ornaments made of sea shells at the shops nearby. There are numerous shacks around Sea Hawk hotel which serve delicious sea food delicacies at reasonable rates.

Green coconuts are found in plenty at the beach and cost only around five rupees. These are sold by the local vendors who move about on cycles at the beach.

The sea can get rough during high tides and it is not safe for swimming then. The Digha Beach has an enchanting beauty with the coastal areas fringed with casuarinas and the sunrises and sunsets reflecting the salty waters of the Bay of Bengal.

Digga is such a beautiful place.on the contrary it is a shame that the government has not positively exploited and made it a healthy and clean place for all age groups.
