Tourist Guide Calcutta:

Calcutta, now known as Kolkata, is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. Located on the banks of the Hooghly River, it is a vivacious city famous for its radical history. It is the fourth largest city in India with a populace of about six million people.

Calcutta is represented by a tropical climate wherein summers are long and hot while winters are short and mild. Winters last for a very short while, whereas summers often bring with them spells of thunderstorms. The city experiences heavy rains which bring a relief from the heat.

Calcutta was the capital of India till 1912. The city experienced an economic decline after independence but it bounced back soon during the Indian IT boom. Today, many multinational companies are based here and the city is on its way to progress.

KOLKATTA IS BEST CITY OF INDIA ONE CAN LIVE IN KOLKUTTA VERY COMFORTABLY. TO SAY DURING POOJA IT IS MARVELLOUS & MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY, BOTANICAL GARDEN, KALI MATA TEMPLE, BALLEUR MUTH, VICTORIA LAKE GARDEN, ETC ARE ATTRACTING EVERYONE. DIGHA THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACH.

Calcutta is overcrowded and the transportation is not good. Language problem is there, people speak mostly in Bengali only. People from other states cannot understand the local language. English language use is at a minimum, compared to what it is in Bombay.

A useful tool for exploring this joy of city. Kolkata is having a planned traffic roads and there is unique style of one way tragfic and the direction gets change after specific time period and one has to have a thorough knowledge of roads within Kolkata .

Good city! The city of joy could be much better if taken care of properly... the city needs a complete reform... and with Mamata Banerjee as the chief minister, we can expect that to happen... lets hope for the best! :)

A very nice and friendly place. People are good, cooperative and helpful. Feels cozy and nostalgic. Affordable and economical public transport. Love its old buildings and ambience. Good for short stays say a fortnight.

Very entertaining and people are very helpful. Metro rail is a delighting communication. One can express his political view fearlessly. Lastly RASAGOLLA and MISTI DAI is a sweet memory.

Road people not helpfull, some very risk and low class hotel rate is danger for poor visitors. Taxi cab driver cannot drive by metar. They all time talking as bad languase.

Calcutta is the best city then other cities. there are many places to go and spent time on vacation. and also there is the main city of our state "West Bengal".
