If you are in Boi Para in College Street the tour is not complete until you visit the Presidency College.
Walk into the college premises and into Pramodda's canteen and check out the wonderful chicken samosas and egg chops at a very modest price.
This is the hub of student activity and more often than not you'll find someone playing the guitar or singing songs accompanied by someone making use of a table like a percussion.
Walk up the grand staircase of the Main Building to the second floor where you can find the gong, the grand sound of which marks the end of each class.
Come down the stairs and on your right hand side will be the Library which has an amazing collection of rare books.
Further down the lane is the Baker Building which houses the Science departments and an auditorium named after the famous young poet Henry DeRoZio.
Take a shortcut through the Baker Building and you'll be across the road from the backside entrance to the University of Calcutta.
