Tourist Guide Haora
Haora, well known as Howrah, is a very famous industrial city and a municipal corporation located in the state of West Bengal in India. It is located on the western banks of the River Hoogli. The population census measure in the year 2001 has recorded that the total population of the city is 1,007,532 whereas the total area of the city is measured to be 55 square kilometers. Haora is considered to be the second largest city of West Bengal both in terms of area as well as population. The city has fully equipped transportation facilities for roadways, railways as well as airways. This is evident from the fact that it is the terminal for 2 railway zones of India that includes the Eastern and the South Eastern Railway with six more railway stations within the city. The famous Bengal Engineering College has now turned into a University which is a famous educational institution here. The city has a typical tropical wet and dry climate with average temperature around 27 degrees. The city being located at the coast generally has a humid climate in the afternoons and evenings.
