Really, Calcutta(Kolkata) is meant for the CITY OF JOY, being a gazetted officer, i certify this. I transferred from other city, felt some difficulties during initial 2-3 months only due to some language problem, but that is ignorable and may be enjoyed. I was thinking that peoples of BANGLADESH feels MORE comfortable than other part of this country due to their fluency in the bangla language. I appreciate the city for its co-operative and respective attitude, discipline, faith, equality and standards(of food, transport and services in cheap rate). Some attention required on Road Quality, Work Culture, Union-ity in every sector. Overall respect and my salute for the city.
Its my birthplace and I can say that it's a little and emotional place. But still many issues have to be focused carefully for its more development. Such things like safety of a lady in some of the galis' here and there in our city can be made better by appointing police vans or so. The literacy and mentality of some people from rural areas, has to be developed by spreading the light of 'SHIKHSHA' to them. There is still a beautiful city to visit and which have to learn many things above all to observe and learn about a different culture.
