Surabaya is a busy city with many commercial centers, offices, shopping possibilities, hotels and conference facilities. Unfortunately there is also a lot of traffic but tourist can recuperate from the city noise without going to far, in Surabaya’s surroundings you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of volcanic craters, deserted beaches, remote wildlife reserves and temple complexes.
Surabaya has a modern and very efficient infrastructure; it can be reached easily by plane, the Juanda Airport has international airport status and is situated only 30 minutes from the city’s center. Also by high speed rail and road Surabaya is well connected to the other main cities of Indonesia as for example Jakarta.
The climate is tropical with two main seasons; a rainy season from October
to April and a dry season from May to September. The weather is rather humid
and the annual average temperature goes from 19°C to 30°C.
