There are tropical fresh fruit, such as Marquisa, which one can find in the city which are not found elsewhere, so if you come across them do taste them as they are great.
A few local guides which would be helpful to carry around would be Jakarta or Java Kini and they are available at most of the hotels, restaurants and cafes.
There are certain tips which one can follow to get along with Indonesians such as always use your right hand while shaking hands as it is considered to be polite.
Indonesians are normally very easy to get along with as long as one is patient and polite especially with elderly people. Remember to remove shoes before entering a place of religious worship.
