Bam can be described as a city located in Iran’s Kerman province. It’s, in fact center of Bam County. The contemporary Bam goes on to surround Bam citadel. Prior to earthquake of the year 2003, this city’s population was around 43000. There have been loads of opinions regarding reasons behind foundation of citadel and also about date of foundation. Certain people are of the opinion that bam city had been discovered during reign of Parthian Empire; i.e. an extremely powerful Persian Empire which had ruled Iran between 250 BCE and 226 BCE. Commercially and economically, Bam had occupied a significant place in region. It was also known for clothes and textiles.
The earthquake that took place in the year 2003 led to thawing of relations between US and Iran. So, one can say that, in a way, amicable relations got established between Iran and US after this earthquake as humanity was considered to be above all, as far as US was concerned.
