The Naqsh e Jahaan Square, or Imam Square, is one of the largest city squares in the world and a listed World Heritage Site. It houses many historic buildings like the Shah Mosque, the Ali Qapu Palace, the Sheikh Ali Mosque and the Isfahan Grand Bazaar.

An ancient avenue dating back to the Saffavid era, the Chaharbagh Boulevard is a magnificent place which also inspired the popular Champs Elysees street in Paris.

The Shah Mosque, or the Imam mosque, is a fine example of Islamic architecture and is a World Heritage Site. It is adorned with colourful mosaic tiles and several inscriptions.

The most famous cathedral in the city is the Vank Cathedral, or the Church of the Saintly Sisters. The cathedral is home to a museum, an ancient printing press and a huge research library. It also houses a variety of ancient paintings, costumes and more. The church features various carved with pictorial inscriptions from the Bible.
