Jamkaran Mosque is a well-known pilgrimage site; as far as Shiite Muslims are concerned. As per local belief, the 12th Imam was a messiah figure. Shia also believe that he would be leading the world to peace through his indirect presence. It has also been reported that this Imam hd appeared as well as offered prayers at ‘Jamkaran’. This occurrence is being compared with the belief of Catholics of Virgin Mary having appeared in front of 3 shepherd children in the year 1917 at Fatima, Portugal.
This mosque continues to be a place of sanctity since long; at least since the year 373 AD. Sometimes in 1995-2005, reputation of mosque spread amongst youngsters in particular. They started thronging to this mosque in leaps and bounds. There is ‘Well of requests’ in mosque’s rear part; wherein it has been believed that Imam had become unhidden in a miraculous manner for a short time-span of caressing communion with ‘Creator’.
