Yazd can be described as capital of province of Yazd in Iran. It enjoys the pride of being the 2nd most historic and ancient city all over the world.
Yazd is center of ‘Zoroastrian’ culture.
Yazd lies at the distance of 175 miles on the south-eastern side of Isfahan. Owing to ages of adaptations with regards to desert surroundings, this place is unique, as far as its architecture is concerned. It has also been well-known for high quality crafts; silk weaving, in particular. Sweets shops over here have also obtained international acclaim. Yazd’s total area consists of 131551 sq. Km. It stands on an oasis which is the meeting point of Dasht-e Lut and Dasht-e Kavir. At times, this place is called ‘the bride of Kavir’ owing to its position, i.e. between ‘Shir Kuh’, which is the tallest mountain-range (4075 meters).Yazd itself stands at the elevation of 1023 meters above the ‘sea-level’.
