Cesarea Maritima was built by Herod the Great in 25 B.C., so that the city has been surely influenced by the roman culture during its history. Its consequences are still present, even if today Cesarea represent a very interesting mix of culture and life-styles, because of the current presence of roman and christian traditions, as told, jewish modernity and muslim practices.
However, today Cesarea is also one of the most tourist places in the whole Israel : it’s a renowned sea destination because of its geographic position, directly on the Mediterranean coast.
Cesarea is located halfaway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, so that is very easy to reach from the International Ben Gurion Airport.
