Israel has excellent healthcare facilities on offer; however, treatment here can be fairly expensive, so it is essential to have travel insurance.

It is best to avoid drinking tap water, opt for bottled water instead. Also, cases of bird flu have been reported in the region; make sure you avoid contact with any live poultry.

If you are carrying any medication, make sure you carry them in their original packaging and with their prescriptions. It is recommended you carry antibiotics and sun block.

The ongoing Israel–Palestine conflict makes the entire region unstable. Security is fragile, with regular attacks and fighting experienced from time to time. Avoid any demonstrations, also avoid boarder areas. Before planning a trip, it is advisable to check on the political situation in the Middle East.
