The Temple Mount is also called as Mount Moriah and Muslims call it the Noble Sanctuary. This is a religious site in the Old City of Jerusalem. Because of its significance for Islam and Judaism, it is considered as one of the most contested religious sites in the world. The site has the holiest site in Judaism. Presently, it is governed by the Waqf or the Supreme Muslim Religious Council. The place is sacred to Christians, Muslims and Jews. The Temple Mount forms the north side of a narrow spur of hill which slopes from north side to the south side. It has a peak which has a height of 740m above sea level.
