Netanya is a city in the Central District of Israel and the capital of the Sharon plain. It is a popular tourist resort town owing to its beautiful beaches. Netanya is home to a population of about 180,000 residents. It is a rapidly developing holiday destination with several resorts, restaurants and shopping malls.
The climate of Netanya is pleasant all year round, which has helped it develop as a resort town. Summers are not very hot, and in winters, the temperatures drop to a comfortable level. Rainfall is adequate, and snowfall, rare. Visiting the city in spring and autumn is profitable to the tourists.
Netanya was founded in the late twenties by citrus farmers. Today, the city is an important tourist centre, contributing to the economy.
