Utopia Park, covering over 40 dunams of land at Kibutz Bahan in the Emek Hefer region of Israel, combines the world of orchids with reality. Utopia Orchid Park is one of the newest and most talked about attractions in Israel.

Utopia Park features a botanical-ecological park which focuses on orchid cultivation. There are approximately 20,000 orchids in the park, including tens of different species, some of which  are quite rare. Waterfalls, pools, fish, various species of birds and tens of thousands of tropical plants, including carnivorous plants, all blend together to create a natural environment and atmosphere perfect for cultivating and raising orchids.

Orchids

As in rainforests throughout the world, the extensive collection of orchids at Utopia Park, the majority of which are in bloom, grow as epiphytes on rocks, trees and on the ground.

Visitors to the park are able to view the magical world of orchids flourishing in every corner of the park, right at the tip of their fingers. Utopia Park is the only places in Israel, even in the Middle East, where visitors are able to witness such lush nature so close up.

Carnivorous Plants

Utopia Park has a vast collection of carnivorous plants that thrive and reproduce in their natural habitat- a swamp, created just for them at Utopia. Visitors can see how the carnivorous plants grow and are cultivated, as well as see them actually capture prey. Utopia's carnivorous plant exhibition is one of the major attractions in Israel today.

The Butterfly Garden

Hundreds of beautiful butterflies flourish in a specially created  butterfly house, complete with particular plant growth enabling maximal reproduction conditions for the butterflies. Here, visitors are able to observe the butterfly's life cycle:

1. The female butterfly lays its larvae (eggs) on a specific plant

2. The larvae transform into caterpillars and feed off the plant life until mature

3. The caterpillars become cocoons

4. Within a few weeks time, the butterfly emerges from the cocoon.

This entire process takes place in Utopia's butterfly house, exactly as in nature.

*Butterflies are less active due to hibernation during the winter months (between December and April). The butterflies are most active between May and November.

Animals

At Utopia Park, visitors will encounter a wide variety of animals: birds, parakeets, fowl, goats, spotted deer, Moroccan and Cameroon sheep, peacocks and rabbits, to name a few. Inside the park there is an enclosed area for birds of all kinds where visitors are able to wander alongside the large number of fowl.

Plant Maze

Utopia Park has two plant mazes for you to discover- a classical style maze and a more daring and challenging two-storied ficus maze.

The classical style maze sports the formal English design while the more daring and challenging maze has adventurous paths spread out on two levels over a vast 2000 meter area. Our mazes are one of the funnest activities in Israel.

Utopia Orchid Park has become one of the trendiest attractions in Israel with it's wide variety of activities in Israel for old and young alike.
