The airport is located 15 km to the southeast of Tel Aviv and is operated by a government-owned corporation in the State of Israel.
Ben Gurion International Airport, fomerly known as Wilhelma Airport, is the largest and busiest international airport in Israel, founded in the year 1936.
The airport has been the target of several terrorist attacks, but no attempt to hijack was done due to its highly vigilant secuity gaurds.
Ben Gurion Airport is considered one of the world's most secure airports and is fully equipped to detect any possible threats.
About 10.2 million passengers travel through it. It has four terminals where terminal 1 is used for domestic flights and terminal 3 is used for international ones.
The airport is easily accessible by car or public bus located outside the arrival building.
