The Great Synagogue is considered among one of the most popular tourist destinations of the city of Tel Aviv, Israel. It is situated on Allenby Street in the eastern side of the Shalom Tower.
The building was first constructed in the year 1926 and then renovated in 1970. While renovating, a new front elevation of arches was given to it. The area around the Great Synagogue became a center for finance and business in the early 1960s. The building is built with a massive dome and spectacular stained glass windows.
These glass windows are actually replicas of synagogues’s windows destroyed in Europe at the time of the Holocaust. The Great Synagogue remains one of the most frequented site of the city and particularly populated on Saturday and holiday days.
