If you plan to venture into the sea from July to August beware of Jellyfishe as they stick to the skin and sting, injecting poison into your body.
Though the poison is not fatal, it needs medical treatment.
The security at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv is pretty strict and your luggage and visa will be checked, so, remember to pack only items which are permitted.
Do not overstay, either, as you could be banned from entering the city for five to nine years.
Security within the city is good and street crime is negligible.
However, the most frequent cause of death are road accidents, therefore you needs to take care when travelling around.
Bombing rarely happens in Tel Aviv now; updates of the current situation are available on local TV news and in newspapers.
Thefts and petty crimes do exist, but, it can be avoided by taking good care of luggage and avoiding moving around the city at night.
