Tourist Guide Kobe
Kobe, located in the Kansai region, is the capital city of Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. This important port city houses around 1.5 million inhabitants and is a part of the Osaka-Kyoto-Kobe urban sprawl. It is one of Japan’s most charming cities with a peaceful, yet cosmopolitan environment.
Kobe is typified by a temperate climate with all four seasons. Summers are hot and without any breeze. Winters are very cold with snowfall being a regular feature. The city also receives adequate rainfall. Autumn is the best season to visit when the city is enveloped in colourful vegetation.
Kobe was earlier known as Owada Anchorage; its history dates back to the eighth century. The Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995 caused large-scale destruction in the city; however, today Kobe is a thriving city and Japan’s third busiest port.
