Philospher's Path or Tetsugaku-no-michi offers an opportunity to experience a peaceful atmosphere.

The narrow walkway with crystal clear river following is truly a sight.

Depending upon the season one visits, tourists may be lucky to see the Cherry blossom trees in bloom or the Japanese maple awash in fall colours.

The city has a Japan National Tourist Organization office near the JR Kyoto Station. Visitors will find all the information at the JNTO Office. The staff can communicate in English; however booklets and brochures are in Korean, Chinese, Spanish and English.

Campus Plaza located near Kyoto Station is a place where the visitors can use free internet.

Kyoto Prefectural International Centre is a good place for net surfing. However, visitors will have to pay 100 yen for 15 minutes.

The entire city of Kyoto is very safe and the streets are quiet during the night time. Sometimes, one might find a group of students screaming and enjoying themselves but they will not approach any tourists.
