Nara is a landlocked prefecture situated in the midst of Kii peninsula on the western half of Honshu, Japan. It is a part of Kinki or Kansai region of the country.
The climate of Nara is one of the warmest in Japan. The summer is very hot and humid and temperatures range from 25 to 35 degrees, while in winter the average temperature is 5 degrees Celsius.
The population of Nara city as per the 2005 census was 0.373 million. The Nara culture is also called as Tenpyo-culture. It has been significantly affected by Buddhism.
