Narita, in Chiba Prefecture, is located in Japan. The city of Narita lies to the west of Lake Imba; to its south-east lies the Hokuso plains. With a population of around 120,000 inhabitants, Narita houses the Narita International Airport, which is known as the sky-gateway of Japan.
Narita city has a warm climate, mild in winter and relatively cool in summer. Precipitation is generally high in summer and low in winter.
Narita, once part of the Inba district, is believed to have been inhabited since prehistoric times. The Narita City was founded in 1954; in 2006, the city expanded into the Katori district areas.
The inhabitants of Narita depend on agriculture, trade, and tourism for a livelihood. Fishing is also a major source of economy.
