Haneda Airport can be reached in about thirty-minutes from the south of central Tokyo.
Handling around 65 million passengers in a year, it is simply the biggest and busiest airport in Japan and also ranks amongst the busiest airports of the world.
While Tokyo’s other airport, Narita Airport, handles most of the International Flights, the Haneda Airport specializes mainly in domestic flights.
The airport is divided in 2 large terminals for domestic flights and one small terminal for international flights.
Terminal 1 is at the western side of the airport servicing Japan Airlines, Skymark Airlines, Skynet Asia and JAL Group. Terminal 2 is at the eastern side and services Air Do and ANA Group and Korean Air.
These two terminals are connected by a floor corridor, which takes around twenty-minutes to traverse. ANA and Galaxy Airlines also provide schedule cargo routes.
Two railways and one Monorail line connects the airport terminal to the city center. Bus services are also available.
Haneda Airport houses a special terminal for VIPs and 2 parking-spots for private aircrafts.
Many cafeterias and restaurants are located in the terminal building. Japanese, Chinese and Western style restaurants are on the third and fifth floor. The terminal also has many shops, including one book shop.
