Coming at dusk, Tokyo blossoms in a profusion of neon lights, paper lanterns and its streets get packed with people out for a good time! Tokyo at night is a city that never seems to sleep as entertainment districts are just as crowded at 3 am as they are at 10 pm. And many places stay open till 5 am as the underground runs until that hour.
There are many nightspots spread on the city scene, each one with its price range. For instance you might try the Yen Bar in Shybuya district, located in Maruyama-cho. The place has a laid back atmosphere and there's a nice mix of Japanese and expats clientele. Great music and English speaking staff, on weeknights it's pretty quiet; things starts to pick up from Thursdays till Saturdays.The bar opens at 11 pm taking over the restaurant; there's a full drink menu to choose from and plenty of bar snacks...it's a groovy little spot!
As for clubs, still in Shybuya, you might try the Club Pure, just recently opened. Due to its English speaking staff, a lot of foreigners come here. The cover charge is not so on a budget, about 3,500 yen, nut includes unlimited drinks! There's a billiard table and a cool dance floor. You'll find the place in 12 Dougen -zaka, Shybuya.
