The University of Tokyo is a major research university situated in Tokyo, Japan.
With 10 faculties and a total of 30,000 students, with 2100 foreign students, this university has five campuses which are in Hongo, Kashiwa, Nakano, Komaba and in Shirokane. Established in 1877, the university is known to be one of the most prestigious universities in Japan.
As per the Academic Ranking of World Universities, this university ranks as the highest in Asia and the twentieth in the world in 2010.
