Budget Art

You can spend an entire day in Tokyo's Metropolitan Art Museum (Ueno Park area) admiring from oil paintings to calligraphy, pottery and sculpture: really, there's no place to spare here!

It's the home of Japanese Art and among other fantastic museum in this metropolis, it has to be on your list! It has six galleries but each one charges a separate entrance fee wich is about 700 yen; entrance for over 65-year-old people is free.

The city offers though great deals on accomodation and transport though, so, if you add up the amount of money you'll be saving there, there's a bit more to spend on the Arts, galleries and museums.

Tokyo is a happening city and if you're into traditional Japanese performing Arts, they are so popular that around the metropolis you'll find cheap venues to attend them, especially in the areas where you'll find also hostels. Another museum that would be a pity not to see is the Tokyo National Museum.

While it may seem a dream to visit such a metropolis, also known to be one of the most expensive in the World, don't be put off! It allows the budget travellers too to experience an art scene that will be a lifetime experience!
