The ideal time to visit is in spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when the weather is pleasant; it is also a time when many Japanese festivals are held. May, known as the Cherry blossom season, is a popular holiday period.
Events and Entertainment
The most spectacular festivities are seen during the New Year or Shogatsu celebrations. With spring comes cherry blossoms and Hanami, or flower viewing.
