The most important precaution to take if one is looking for diving experiences is not to travel to higher altitudes for 12 hours after completing your dive.

Similarly if you have travelled from a higher altitude or have taken a flight, wait for 12 hours before your first dive.

Informing the dive centre about your plans will help the diving instructor to choose a suitable diving spot for you.

The Gulf of Aqaba is home to a large number of jellyfish: they are very light in colour and almost invisible. Be prepared as you might be bit by them, though the bite is not fatal.

Many tourists try to go to Iraq from Jordan as it is easier and connected by road, it is not safe to do so however, and it should be avoided.

Visitors are advised to keep away from demonstrations and gatherings, especially outside religious places.

Tolerance towards western culture is not very high, thus tourists are safe in maintaining a low profile and not displaying or engaging in any anti-Islamic talk or activity.
