Old Jerash contains of a number of Roman ruins such as the Hadrian's Arch and the Hippodrome, which can be visited by tourists. The Visitor Centre which is located at the entrance of the archaeological park gives gives information about many unusual ancient sites.
The Cardo or Colonnaded Street is a 600 m path that runs through the length of the city. The city's major residences, buildings and shops were once all connected by this street. A labyrinth of complex drainage systems can be seen below the stone paving.
The Forum / Oval Plaza is a wide and asymmetrical plaza situated at the opening of the Colonnaded Street. It is 80m by 90m and encased by 160 Ionic columns.
The Nymphaeum is an ornate fountain on public display that was dedicated to the nymphs and decorated with lion heads.
The Agora too has a central fountain and it was the city’s main food market, The Temple of Artemis is a breathtaking architectural site.
Jerash Archaeological Museum displays a collection of excavation artefacts which include statues, sarcophagi and coins.
The South Theatre is an amphitheatre with a capacity of up to 3,000. Occasionally, it is used even today for musical productions and concerts.
